The Young Militant End-time Army: Their Weapons

THE YOUNG MILITANT END-TIME ARMY: THEIR WEAPONS (Eph. 6:10-18)

It may not be out of place to say that the words ‘soldiers’, ‘army’, ‘militant’ are synonymous with battle, combat, aggressiveness, weapons, etc. ordinarily. Every nation provides weapons of battle for its army and this time, highly technical and sophisticated armoury to meet with the attacks of the opposition.

To talk of raising young militant end-time army definitely shows that there is a fierce battle that must be urgently, consistently and selflessly engaged in. This battle has been on between the Church of the Living God (true Christians or children of God) and the kingdom of darkness (cons. Matt. 16:18; Eph. 6:12; 2Cor. 10:3). The battle has continually increased in fierceness and at this end-time has become a much more deadly and fierce confrontation (cons. Is. 9:5).

The fact that youths of this generation constitute a major part of the enemy’s target considering the surging spiritual wave of evil, oppression, worldliness, murder, economic hardship, academic difficulties, operations of evil people, temptations, persecution, ungodly influences, prostitution among youths, etc like never before is quite obvious (Zech. 3:1; cons. Matt. 13:19; Is. 14:12,16,17; 2Tim. 3:1-4). For this cause, the said army is being raised to withstand this wiles of the devil, pull down all strongholds, cast down all vain and wicked imaginations abounding in the lives of many youths and others, deliver the captives of the mighty and the prey of the terrible, install the righteousness of their God, execute the eleventh hour business all within the less than 2½ minutes to mid-night (2Cor. 10:4; Eph. 6:11-13; Is. 49:24, 5-6). The captain of the army has therefore provided the armoury for this combat and one interesting information every officer in this squad must know is that the victory has been won and declared before now (Col. 2:15; Eph. 4:8; Heb. 2:14,15) and that though the strength of the adversary may be great yet the greater than he is the Captain of their army and He is solidly behind them (2Cor. 10:4). Let’s briefly consider the end-time army’s weapons.

The weapons of the young militant end-time army (Eph. 6:14-18; Rev. 12:11; Prov. 18:10; Is. 59:19). The battle is with unseen forces and the weapons involved spiritual and mighty through God. In the armoury of God is:

The Word of God (Eph. 6:17; Ps. 138:2).

The place of God’s word in the on-going battle is an un-imaginary one. The Word gives life and ignites life (Ezk. 37:1-7; Jn. 5:25). As a Watchman youth speaks the word of God, the heart of the ignorant is brightened with knowledge, darkness of sin is rolled away and the light of the glorious gospel liberates the sinner from sin (cons. 2Con.4:3,4,6). By believing and quoting the word of God, the devils’ programmes are rendered useless (Matt. 4:3-10; 2Cor. 10:4-5) and heart desires are granted (e.g. Ps. 91; Is. 54:15-17; 43:2; Rom. 8:32).

The Weapon of Prayer (Eph. 6:18; 1Thess. 5:17; Lk. 18:1-8)

Prayer involves talking to and with the Lord with all of one’s heart or mind in praise, petition, or thanksgiving (Phil. 4:6). It is most effective when the word of God is prayed or when the Spirit of God prays through the saved youth (Rom. 8:26; cons. Acts 4:23-33).

Christian youths who find time to pray, though young are like giants having exercised senses, filled with light and faith and love threats to the enemy (Mk. 5:6-7). They grow to be more like the Lord because of closeness through His word (Jam. 4:8).

The Weapon of Righteousness (Eph. 6:14; Prov. 14:34)

God Himself puts on this weapon and conquers by it (Is. 59:16,17). It exalts one, sustains one’s hedge, and as a breastplate protects one’s heart from all evil infiltrations (cp. Eccl. 10:8; 1Pt. 5:8; Jn. 14:30).

The Weapon of Truth (Eph. 6:14)

On the weapon of truth lies all others (Jn. 8:31-32) like we pointed out on the DRESS CODE of the young militant end-time army. Truth in the heart and mind affects one’s behaviour, what one knows and one’s manner of conversation (Eph. 1:13; 4:15,24). One of the instruments of Satan is lies which may look like truth and by it many have been deceived now and will be deceived after rapture (Matt. 4:5-6; Jn. 8:44; cons. 1Kgs. 22:6,10,11). With this weapon, an officer of the army defeats the devil and his false prophets.

The Weapon of Evangelism (the shoe of the gospel of peace) (Eph. 6:15; Matt. 4:13-16)

This weapon is used to demonstrate the power of God unto salvation (Rom. 1:16; 1Cor. 1:18). The army being raised is expected to dislodge all forms of darkness the devil has created in the hearts of youths of this generation through the preaching of the gospel and fill them with the true light that brings salvation (Jn. 1:4-5,9). By this weapon the kingdom of God is expanded (Acts 4:1-4; 6:7). It is a weapon that shields the saved youth when used regularly from temptations (cons. Ezra 8:21-23).

The Weapon of Faith (Eph. 6:16; 1Jn. 5:4)

Faith in God and in His word is like a shield that protects him from the arrows of the opponent. It is with faith in heart, an end-time army quenches the fiery darts of the wicked (failures, fear, illnesses and diseases, temptation to sin, discouragements, etc). By it he holds on to the end no matter the odds.

The Weapon of Salvation (Eph. 6:17; 1Thess. 5:8)

Before enlisting into the army, the youth must been set free from sin and lies of Satan through the truth of the gospel (Jn. 8:34-36, 44; 1Jn. 3:8). By this weapon, he is bold and confident to fight the devil and since this end-time battle is a regular and consistent one, he must ensure that this helmet (Saving grace) is not tempered with sin for this will expose him and it is dangerous (cons. Acts 19:13-17; Ps. 19:13; 139:23-24).

The Weapon of the Blood of Jesus (Rev. 12:11)

The life of the flesh is in the blood (Lev. 17:11,14). It serves as security from destruction when there is obedience to God’s instruction (Ex. 12:12-13). The blood of Jesus atones for sin and yields salvation under the new covenant (cons. Heb. 9:11-15; Col. 1:13-14). The blood of Jesus, when pleaded, brings down security against the devil in the face of danger, offers forgiveness of sin and freedom from the devil’s accusation, offers help from the Lord as you gain entrance to the throne of grace (1Pt. 1:18-20; Heb. 10:19; 4:16).

The Weapon of the Word of Confession (Rev. 12:11)

This weapon works with the weapon of faith. Positive confession, the word of testimony, gives the Captain’s commendation and victory (e.g. Num. 13:27-31; 14:6-9, 23-24; 1Sam. 17:44-47). No soldier in a fierce battle at this end-time’s can afford to fight with negative confessions which inflicts wounds and weakens the mind or heart (Prov. 12:25).

The Weapon of the Name of the Lord (Ps. 20:1,5; Prov. 18:10)

Names especially God-given names are usually significant to their character or task. Jesus in Matt. 1:21 means Saviour. When the name “Jesus”, the name above every other name, is invoked, you are invoking the covenant-keeping name of God especially centred on salvation (Ex. 6:3,4; Matt. 1:21). As a weapon, the name of the Lord, “Jesus” is a weapon of complete safety (Ps. 20:7; Prov. 18:10; 1Sam. 17:45-46; 20:5).

The Weapon of the Holy Spirit (Is. 59:19)

The effectiveness of the weapons in the Lord’s armoury is guaranteed by the Spirit of the Lord. Weaknesses in the spirit are strengthened by the Spirit of God (Rom. 8:26,27), courage and boldness to march on in the battle (Acts 4:21-31); the fruits of the Spirit for unquestionable and admirable Christian life (Gal. 5:22,23), and the gifts of the Spirit for fruitful service and great exploits (Acts 3:1-11; 4:4).

With these great provisions in the armoury to ensure and bring home the already won victory by our great Captain and leader. No youth who has enlisted into the army of the hour – the young militant end-time army, should hesitate to put on the whole armour and engage into this battle with determination to war persistently and consistently until all the enemies are subdued, their captives and prey delivered and all brought into the blessings of the Lord and eventually into His kingdom. Let it begin right away and in this camp this day as you acquire and wield these incomparable weapons and release all captives and prey and get your own spoils. Shall we acquire these weapons from the Lord now and move into the battle field immediately.
